2006 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Clint Moore is a 2007 MIF with a 5'11'', 175 lb. frame from Greensboro NC, who attends Grimsley HS. He has a solid athletic build and good overall athletic actions. Moore stood out defensively at the showcase both in the drills and in the games. He moves easily and confidently in the middle infield, with quick balanced actions that got him in position to field the ball cleanly and make strong throws. Moore was especially good at charging the ball and throwing on the move. Offensively, Moore has good raw bat speed and squared up well on the ball during games. He likes to hit with his hands extended, which left him vulnerable to inside heat a few times, but when he makes contact the ball jumps well. Moore also got to pitch a bit, showing an 85 mph fastball and a sharp, sweeping 73 mph slurve type curveball. He has a low 3/4's release point, which creates some deception and live to his pitches. Moore would be a nice pitching prospect if he wasn't a better middle infielder. His bat still has a room for improvement but Moore can play defense at the college level. He is also an outstanding student.
