Jared Lewis is a 2022 SS/2B with a 5-10 170 lb. frame from Pleasanton, CA who attends San Ramon Valley. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and present strength to frame, additional room to fill throughout. Fast-twitch, posted a 6.51 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fluid footwork in the dirt with present athleticism, sound defensive actions and repeats with agility, fast hands with softness, gets it out of glove, big arm strength and carry across the diamond with online carry, shows the ability to throw accurately from multiple slots. Switch-hitter, best from the right side in this look; wide base at start and controlled throughout, works on a linear path through the zone, creates separation and shows leverage at the point of contact with carry coming off, swings with intent and generates solid present bat speed. Narrow base with a high hand set and back elbow from the left side, keeps hands inside throughout swing, big leg lift trigger for timing, stays compact, contact oriented approach and will continue to develop. Very good student. Verbal commitment to Southern California.
