Zachary Rosenfeld is a 2019 3B/RHP with a 5-10 175 lb. frame from Bellmore, NY who attends Bellmore JFK High School. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 5.12 40-yard dash. Primary third baseman, stays back on the ball, fields out front with and stays low through funnel, takes short steps ranging to left, gets tall at release and can incorporate additional lower half into release, shorter arm stroke through back while working to an over-the-top slot, gets on top of ball well with accuracy, arm strength will continue to develop. Also pitched, short side step moving into a belt high leg lift; similar short arm action with a higher three-quarters slot and a tight release. Showed ability to creates some plane get to lower third of zone with fastball when on top at release, topped out at 73 mph and flashed a curveball up to 63 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide, bent knee stance in the box and a medium hand set; pulls hands back at start of swing. Does a nice job of staying short through the zone with swing, occasionally gets to front side early with weight shift. Contact oriented approach, shows a linear path and keeps hands inside the baseball, gets the barrel through the zone, can create better extension out front at point of contact. Very good student.
