2023 Fall East Coast Workout Showcase (Friday)
Anthony Depetro is a 2025 C/2B, OF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Staten Island, NY who attends St. Joseph by the Sea. Compact, durably built frame with strength in his lower half and room to add. Recorded a 7.10 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher with an advanced and extremely fundamentally sound catch-and-throw skill set. Received from both a slightly staggered and one-knee stance, showed good hip mobility and flexibility moving side-to-side. Displayed a quick, direct midline transfer with explosive footwork out of the crouch with good direction and agility. Gains ground towards his target, produced accurate throws up to 75 mph from behind the plate during drills. Left-handed hitter that hits from an open based stance with tight hands and toe-tap trigger for timing. Incorporates slight weight shift and rotational lower half mechanics to create torque and present bat speed. Mostly pullside impact with the ability to generate leverage and carry, has strength in his hands and some feel for the barrel. Well-rounded backstop with offensive prowess and plenty of upside remaining. Excellent Student. Named to the 2023 Fall East Coast Workout Showcase Top Prospect List.
