Braeden Brewer is a 2021 C/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Wiggins, MS who attends Stone. Larger build with room to still grow and strengthen as he continues to develop. Primary catcher, sets up in a conventional crouch, shows some feel for his glove work. Short arm action, clean transfer, gains ground on his throws and shows quick footwork throughout. Throws are accurate to all bags. Posted a 1.86 second pop time by getting out of his crouch slightly early in the catching workouts. On the mound, has a shorter arm action from a high three-quarters slot. Side steps into a very high leg kick in his windup and shoves down the hill with some violence to his drop and drive actions. Fastball up to 84 mph, mixes in an 11-to-5 shaped curveball with good depth. Also throws a fading changeup that sits around 74 mph. At the plate, uses a wide and upright stance with a toe tap trigger. More power left to be unlocked in his lower half. Barrel works down through the zone, looks to use all fields. Great student in the classroom as well.
