Chase Dabbs is a 2021 LHP/OF with a 6-2 165 lb. frame from Redlands, CA who attends Redlands East Valley HS. Tall and lean frame with projectability still remaining. Ran a 7.03 second 60 yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher, works from a compact delivery on the mound with multiple checkpoints throughout his windup to disrupt hitters timing and create deception, takes his arm back to a long arm action up to a low 3/4 arm slot, fastball created good armside run from arm angle and topped out at 83 mph, worked the pitch well to his armside especially against righthanded hitters, mixed in a curveball with 1-to-7 shape and good feel, mixed in an effective changeup as well with maintained fastball arm speed and fading action, fields his position well, intriguing components on the mound with time to continue to refine. Secondary outfielder, moved to the baseball with athletic movements, fields the ball out in front releasing from a similar arm slot as on the mound, creates uphill carry to his target with accuracy and average arm strength. Lefthanded hitter, sets up with a low hand sets at the plate, utilizes a toe tap trigger into contact, swings with intent creating some bat speed through the hitting zone, creates a line drive swing plane with a pull side approach.
