Trey Morris is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny Centennial. Large frame with present strength throughout. Ran a 7.61 second 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher with a front step delivery into leg lift to the belt. Lands in line to the plate with hip coil at the gather. Long and loose action in the back into a high three-quarter arm slot. Works to the plate with sharp angle and creates arm speed into release. Occasional cutting action on the fastball topping out at 83 miles per hour. Tight spinning curveball with an 11-to-5 shape and sharpness to break. Commands the zone well with all pitches. Will also occasionally go to a changeup working on the outer edge. Worked out defensively as a secondary first baseman. Fields with a deeper funnel and a narrow base. Longer shuffles with a clean release. Throws topping out at 78 miles per hour. Righthanded hitter with a slightly open stance to start. Utilizing a hanging load for timing. Drives the ball to the pull side swinging with intent. Creates jump off the barrel when timed up. Good student as well.
