Ryan Weaver is a 2023 2B/RHP, SS, OF with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Gilbert, AZ who attends Arizona College Prep Erie. Features a lean, athletic build. Quality runner. Ran a 6.74 60-yard. Allows for good range in the outfield. Speed profiles well for center field. Charged the ball hard. Transition well into throws. Quick arm speed and good body direction generate strong, accurate throws. Arm strength showed as an infield too. Flashed fair glove actions that work best going to the glove side. Glove needs some further development but the arm plays form both the outfield and infield. Utilizes a slightly open stance with a strong base in the box. Uses a simple stride and slight hand hitch timing mechanism. Showcased quality bat speed on a clean bat path. Has some pullside power. Also showed well on the mound. Uses a drop and drive delivery that gets into the lower half well. There is some effort throughout. Uses a high 3/4 arm slot with some arm speed. The fastball topped at 79 mph and worked best at the bottom of the zone. Paired it with an upper-60’s curveball with flashes of bite. There is some swing and miss potential when thrown with conviction. Mechanics and pitches need some refining but the pitching foundation is there. Good student, as well.
