Jason Marshall is a 2024 RHP/3B, SS with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Puyallup, WA who attends Gov John Rogers. Medium frame, wide, long, and strong showing space for more projection as he matures. 7.71 60-yd. Shortstop/right-handed pitcher showing the arm strength to show room for growth. Defensively worked to get through the ball especially with the backhand loading up the lower arm slot showing off the arm strength on throws. Footwork showed skills to be better at third base long-term and the arm strength would fit that position. Offensively starts narrow utilizing a foot lift to start the swing showing length in the barrel. Stuck to the pull side and found decent strength in the barrel when on time and catching the ball out front. As a pitcher, the hands work down to the waist and stay with an average front knee lift showing a slight back turn and pause on the lift with the ability to plant the firm front leg and rotate over it. The effort comes from the front shoulder and upper body as he throws from a lower 3/4 slot showing compact length behind him. Fastball flashed some life in the zone and used a two-seamer/sinker version to get under bats producing lots of swings and misses and ground balls. Change-up showed armside fade off the two-seam fastball look. The curveball was a consistent slurve shape with 11/5 shape and depth throwing it in any count. Curveball saw him lift the slot to throw it, so being able to repeat the slot would see the pitch tick up more. The frame suggests more available as he matures on the hill. Names to the Northwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List and a very good student.
