Christian (Taylor) Goodwin is a 2016 C/RHP/OF with a 6-1 200 lb. frame from Warrior, AL who attends Mortimer Jordan HS. Goodwin has an athletic build, hits from a square stance with slight crouch. Aggressive approach with good bat speed. Line drive swing plane with quick hands. Hands are direct to ball. Makes consistent contact and shows present pop. Defensively, has plus arm strength from both the OF and behind the plate. Has good catching skills with good footwork, arm plays behind plate. From the OF, ball has life and carry out of hand with good footwork and actions to ball. Also pitched. Quick tempo in delivery, arm works well and ball jumps out of hand. Fastball is heavy with arm side run. Has feel for hard breaking slider, will slow arm a bit on change up. Had command of all three pitches. Plus runner with 6.78 sixty. Good Student. Named to the Southeast Underclass Showcase Top Prospect Team.
