Justin Salem is a 2015 SS/RHP, OF with a 6-1 155 lb. frame from Mahwah, NJ who attends Bergen Catholic. Large, lean, athletic frame with broad shoulders and room to fill out. Strong runner, posting a 6.97 60 yard dash and speed plays in game situations. Primary shortstop with fluid actions and good lateral agility with strong defensive instincts. Quick twitch athlete, gets around the ball well with easy transfer and release. Good arm strength with carry on throws. From the outfield shows a strong arm from a loose, easy arm action with same athletic actions. Also pitches and throws from a low three quarter arm slot with good extension out front. Keeps fastball low in the zone, topping at 84 mph with good run on the pitch. 11/5 curveball at 70 mph with good depth and late break. Right handed hitter who works from a low hand set away from bod and a wide base. Balanced, upper half swing showing good bat speed with loose wrists. Line drive contact with lift in swing and good power potential. Named to Top Prospect List and Team. Very good student.
