Eric McKenna is a 2019 RHP/SS, OF with a 5-9 165 lb. frame from North Arlington, NJ who attends North Arlington. Medium build with a lean and athletic frame, 7.16 runner in the 60. Primary pitcher that uses his lower half in a sequenced and well timed delivery with a clean and quick arm action. Full arm circle in the back that leads to a high 3/4 arm slot with extension through release. Creates nice angle and plane to the fastball that sat in the lower 80's, topping at 84 mph, with late life to his arm side. Mixes in a curveball that has tight spin and 11/5 shape. Strike thrower that can reach both sides of the plate consistently. Hits from a wider base with a short line drive punching swing, shows good bat speed with a middle-of-the-field to opposite-field approach at the plate. Shows slight weight shift into contact and creates lift with leverage out front displaying present gap power. In the IF he shows lateral movement and the ability to throw well from angles, transition to throw is quick with a full arm circle. From the OF he shows solid arm strength with carry and accuracy to the bags, builds momentum to throw and creates good separation with a quick release. good student.
