2016 West Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Junior Coleman is a 2017 OF with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from San Diego, CA who attends Horizon Christian Academy. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength with continue physical development. Ran a 6.69 sixty yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, fundamental footwork while closing to the baseball. Clean glove action while funneling the baseball with smooth, efficient exchanges while working through transfer. Baseball comes out of hand quickly with an uphill arm action. Throws created solid, on line carry to the bag with accuracy topping at 88 mph. Right handed hitter with a balanced, slight crouched stance and leg lift trigger. Lower half shifts into contact with linear actions. Compact hand path to contact that created a uphill swing plane through extension. Consistently squared up contact throughout batting practice driving the baseball to gaps. Repeats swing with solid rhythm. Hitting tools will continue to develop with physical maturity.
