Logan Schmidt is a 2020 RHP/1B with a 6-4 190 lb. frame from Orange Park, FL who attends Oakleaf HS. Recorded a 7.76 second 60-yard dash time. Lengthy frame with broad shoulders and room to fill out. Primary righthanded pitcher with a short rocker step into a high leg lift. Smooth and balanced delivery. Able to clear hips and utilize lower half well. Good rhythm and tempo. Good command of the zone and challenges hitters. Quick and loose arm action and throws from a three-quarter arm slot. Lots of life to the fastball with sink low in the zone. More velocity in the tank with added strength. Curveball showed good, late depth and he got on top of the pitch consistently. Flashed a changeup with fading action. Secondary first baseman with solid footwork. Three-quarter arm circle and keeps the throws low to the bag. Turns well at the position. Righthanded hitter with a toe tap into his stride. Spread open stance with good bat speed. Gap-to-gap power presently with consistent line drive contact. Shifts weight well with an up the middle and opposite field approach. Named to the 2017 Florida Underclass Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
