Jordan Martinez is a 2022 C/RHP, 3B with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Albuquerque, NM who attends Sandia. Young, lean frame with square shoulders and an athletic, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran an 8.01 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, higher set during drills, comes out of crouch well, receives the ball out front and works into a compact arm action, can continue to implement additional lower half into mechanics, works on top of the ball and shows accuracy to second base. Also pitched, simple leg lift before breaking into a similar compact arm action with a high three-quarters release point. Short stride down the mound, lands slightly closed with strike foot; throws strikes with fastball and topped out at 76 mph, pitched to contact and showed comfort throwing 12-6 shaped curveball for strikes. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and slightly open stance; utilizes a hanging leg lift trigger for timing. Employs a contact oriented approach with a linear stroke through the zone, loads hands back at start of swing. Can continue to get additional extnesion incorporated into swing, stays compact with swing and comfort working to the pull side. Very good student.
