Kyle Smith is a 2022 C/1B, 3B with a 5-11 198 lb. frame from Gurnee, IL who attends Warren Township. Medium frame with broad shoulders and a solid build. Primary catcher with a low, side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains some ground out of crouch utilizing sound footwork. Works through exchange well with a clean arm circle and released from a three-quarters slot. Throws produced online carry to the bag topping at 71 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 2.08. Right handed hitter with a spread, slightly open stance and simple front side trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Clean, repeatable hand path to contact with a line drive barrel plane through extension. Stays balanced throughout swing while employing a mid-field approach. Excellent student.
