2019 Northeast Prospect Showcase
Frederick Rushton is a 2021 SS/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Worcester, MA who attends Doherty Memorial. Medium frame with slender, highly-athletic build. Ran very well, clocking a 6.42 second 60 yard dash time. Hits from even-based stance with high hands and back elbow, small leg lift trigger, gets lower half involved well, rotational with good hip torque, creates leverage and can square the ball up into the air, swings the bat hard with intent, impressive hitting tools on display all weekend. Primary middle infielder, quick feet with range and obvious athleticism, hands work well in any direction, quick release, clocked up to 82 mph on throws. Also took outfield reps, comes in on the ball well and has bounce to actions, fields cleanly off of front foot and gets rid of the ball quickly, clocked up to 86 mph. Excellent student, named to 2019 Northeast Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
