Zander Buchan is a 2022 C/3B, OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Park Ridge, IL who attends Maine South. Medium and strong frame with broad shoulders. Primary catcher, flexibility behind the plate with plenty of athleticism present, gains ground into throws with an over the top arm slot at release, solid arm strength topping out at 79 mph during catching drills, 1.88 second best pop time in drills, 2.26 second best pop time in game. Secondary third baseman, actions play at third base with young hands and developing footwork coming through the baseball, topped out at 81 mph across the diamond. Switch hitter, showed true switch hitting ability with a compact stroke and extension out in front from the right side and some hip torque and leverage from the left side. Outstanding student.
