2021 Northeast Indoor Showcase (Saturday)
Justin Peralta is a 2023 SS/RHP/IF with a 5-10 142 lb. frame from Rockville Centre, NY who attends South Side. Recorded a 5.66 second forty-yard dash time. Medium, slender frame with long levers and plenty of time and room to fill out. Primary middle-infielder with developing defensive skill set; displayed smooth footwork into the fielding process, clean funnel out in front and some lateral range. Displays smooth transfer into a quick release, while recording arm strength up to 73 mph across. Good footwork that is probably best suited at second base presently as arm strength continues to develop. Secondary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with side-step rocker into a high leg lift, drop and drive lower half mechanics and good stride length out to foot strike. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 76 mph from high three-quarters arm slot. Displayed developing command of the strike zone, while staying on top well and showing some downhill plane. Mixed in developing breaking ball that varied in shape and displayed gradual depth. Will continue to improve as he adds strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from a narrow, slightly open stance with a low hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Contact oriented swing with flat path, developing bat-to-ball skills and occasional line drive impact to the middle and pull-side. Max effort swing with rotational lower half, will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength. Projectable, young prospect that will continue to mature and add strength.
