Matthew Gonzalez is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Doral Academy Charter. Tall and slender young build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Right handed hitter, starts from a spread stance, has a long and lifting uphill swing, will pull off with his front side at times, flashes some young bat speed but will get too steep at times. 7.65 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, tends to wait back on the ball, has a quick release with a short and compact arm stroke, can improve his lower half actions and footwork. Took a turn on the mound, has a short arm action and 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 75 mph with nice run and sink, threw his fastball for strikes and induced lots of ground ball contact. Also threw a soft curveball as his secondary pitch. Good student.
