Colton Bettencourt is a 2027 C/1B/OF with a 5-11 172 lb. frame from Stuart, FL who attends South Fork. Features a physical build with some present strength in the lower/upper half. Ran a 7.61 60-yd dash. In the OF, showed a quality approach towards the baseball. Worked with avg. quickness but operated low to the ground with clean reception out front. Noticeable intent to the arm that showed shorter action with some uphill intent. Throws were uphill and accurate showing quality strength. Behind the plate, showed a knee down set up where he gets pre-aligned with 2nd. Gains good ground with a compact exchange that showed some inconsistencies with the transfer. Above avg. arm strength where he was one-hop accurate to 2nd. At the plate sits in a wider base with higher/tighter set hands. Uses a simple forward move with a smaller takeback of the hands. Connected swing where the barrel gets turned on a slight uphill path with a one-handed high finish. Above avg. bat speed for his level with good length to the path. Present balance and creates leverage with the lower half. Best barrels were hard FBs through the middle of the field.
