Mathieu Vargas is a 2027 C/RHP/UT with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Woodstock, GA who attends River Ridge. Primary catcher with a big frame and strong build. Recorded a 7.47 second 60-yard dash time. Big target behind the plate with pocket awareness while receiving. Traditional stance on throws replacing the feet with clean exchange. Secondary right-handed pitcher working from the third base side of the rubber with over-the-head delivery. Drives down the slope using his strong lower-half with a belt-high lift and 3/4 slot. Young actions and delivery with developing feel for the zone. Worked in the outfield and infield with aggressive footwork to gather. Works through the ball with active feet and online throws. Right-handed hitter with an upright and balanced stance. Knee-lift trigger releasing the barrel out front. Pull side impact with strength through the zone. Excellent student.
