Colton Pettinato is a 2029 C/RHP/3B with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Metrolina Christian Academy. Lean, projectable frame with a high waist and plenty of room to add strength moving forward. Recorded a 7.08 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher with an extremely sound catch-and-throw skill set. Receives from a higher, slightly side-saddled stance with a soft hands and plenty of athleticism. Gains ground out of the crouch quickly, maintains a direct midline transfer and works into a repeatable arm action to throw. Displayed plenty of present arm strength with throws up to 74 mph from behind the plate during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with good balance and slightly higher leg lift. Incorporates drop-and-drive lower half mechanics down the slope and worked into a lower three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked mostly in the upper-70s throughout, touching 81 mph at its peak with plenty of arm-side run. Showed feel for spin with lateral slider that had some sharp bite to it at-times. Strike thrower that repeats his mechanics well and projects for more velocity as he continues to mature. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well, where he showed athleticism throughout the fielding process and plenty of arm strength up to 84 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider, slightly open stance with a high, tight hand set and high back elbow. Incorporates a small inward step to get to launch, stays compact with his hands throughout and exhibits plenty of present bat speed. Whole field approach with strength in his hands, feel for the barrel and tons of power projection as he continues to add strength. Named to the 2024 13U Perfect Game Select Baseball Festival.
