Austin Loughrin is a 2027 OF/RHP, MIF, UT with a 5-9 145 lb. frame from La Canada, CA who attends La Canada. Features a medium/compact build. Ran a 7.57 60-yd dash. In the OF, works low through the baseball with present body control and avg. quickness. Tilts the shoulders with a longer arm action and pulls down hard for one-hop accurate throws where he was up to 78 mph. At the plate, he sits in a wider base. Rocks back slightly as he loads the barrel flat and into a slight armbar. Barrel gets through on a flatter path that can cut across at times. Flashed some above avg. bat speed for his level where there’s some strength to the hands. Consistent out front approach where his best impact were liners to the pullside. On the mound, he side steps into an exaggerated higher chest knee lift. Smaller sit in back leg/hip where he creates some similiar tilt to the shoulders and a higher glove arm creating some pulldown effect. Arm works with a clean circle in the back and up to a normal ¾ slot. Lands in-line with a slightly tall finish. His fastball was up to 76 mph flashing some ASR and threw it consistently in-zone. Mixed in a mid 50s developing breaker that showed 11-5 shape.
