Butler is a base hit machine with the ability to smoke the ball to the middle of the field against all types of pitching. He has above average hand strength and hits the ball deep in the zone, even on 90+ mph fastballs. Butler is going to be a very high average hitter at the next level, especially if he’s swinging the metal bat. He even showed some loft power during batting practice with the wood. While Butler isn’t going to win any defensive awards, he has noticeably improved his skills at third base during the past year. His arm strength is at least a half grade better than it was and his hands are getting softer and more sure every time out. Butler is a 7.4 runner but his first step quickness is better than that. The bat is his top tool and it will play real big at South Florida If he ends up there.
