Brody Byers is a 2030 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-5 120 lb. frame from Cookeville, TN who attends Upperman High School. Slender young build with lots of time to get bigger and stronger. 8.58 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, has a full and long arm action, still has to throw uphill due to his arm strength and age, played with energy and took good routes to the ball. Also worked out in the infield but is best suited for the outfield at present. Right handed hitter, starts from a spread stance with a high hand load, rocks back to start his swing with a nice shift into contact, swings hard, still developing the hand strength to impact the ball but has a good base swing to grow from. Took a turn on the mound, works from a short side step start and good balance over the rubber, arm works well from a medium length 3/4's arm slot, tends to not get over his front side and fall off towards first base. Fastball topped out at 66 mph to go with soft curveball and a change up, did a good job of throwing strikes after settling in. Good student.
