Matthew Pond is a 2026 2B/3B/SS with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Fort Mill, SC who attends Legion Collegiate Academy. Medium athletic build with some present strength and more to come. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance with a forward hand load, separates on time with a stride to square, good rhythm to his swing with present bat speed, lived on the barrel all event with hard pull line drive contact, very comfortable in the box and projects well as a hitter. 7.02 runner in the sixty. Primary second baseman on defense, has good lower half actions and works the angles well to the ball, longer arm stroke from a high slot, gets on top of his throws, arm action best suited for third base moving forward. Bat is his primary present tool. Excellent student. Named to the National Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
