WP - Eric Ruff is a 2005 LHP/1B from Clear Creek HS in Texas. At 6'1", 210, Eric has a mature, durable body with a large frame. At the plate he uses a high hand set to make solid contact with a slight uppercut that creates lift and carry to balls from the middle of the diamond to his pull side. Eric centered balls well in batting practice and was able to use all fields and go with the pitch. He is a big, strong kid that has enough power to play the 1B position. He has a good left handed swing that is fluid to contact. On the mound Eric throws from a 3/4 arm slot and shows a 74 mph fastball with above average command.
