Merek Shannon is a 2024 3B/1B with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Erie, CO who attends Erie. Physical medium size frame. Ran a 7.48 60-yard dash. A corner infielder with some footwork getting around the baseball, glove works down but did routinely catch it clean, showed a quick release with some developing arm strength and accuracy to bases. Hit from a slightly open stance with load stride timing at the plate. Developing balance in the swing, gets out front some but does have a compact swing with fundamental connectivity to back side rotation. Level bat path through the zone with some solid average bat speed. Developing feel for the barrel and a primary pull side approach. Very good student.
