Langston Washington is a 2028 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-7 157 lb. frame from Harker Heights, TX who attends Harker Heights. Features a smaller build with room to add strength/athleticism. At 1B, showed quality feel for the position. Comfortable/relaxed actions where he bends at the waist in posture. Glove gets down a tad late and fields it deep at times but clean/soft at reception. Shows a glove tap before release and uses a shorter arm action that got off throws with avg. strength for his level and was accurate across and to second on DPs. At the plate, he sits with an even base and upright upper half. Some active hands move the barrel back and up late in the load. Uses a simple lower half move, small stride that gets down early. Swing path is handsy working steeper/choppy to the baseball producing a lot of GB contact. Showed limited feel for the barrel throughout his BP round. On the mound, shows an easy effort operation. Side steps into a belt high lift and falls down the mound with minimal depth/drop in the backleg. Shorter stride down the mound that lands on-line. Arm shows a medium arm path out the glove and works to a lower elbow release out of a 3/4 slot. Exclusively FBs that lived in the low 60s in which he threw strikes with consistently.
