Jackson Andrews is a 2028 SS/RHP with a 5-10 140 lb. frame from Woodland, WA who attends Woodland HS. Started off the event clocking a 7.28 60-yard dash. A primary infielder, secondary pither. In the OF, showed fundamental and developing footwork. Avg. quickness in the approach but fields it out front and maintains momentum through reception. Short arm stroke that got off uphill throws with average strength and quality accuracy. At shortstop, showed some feel for the position making the required plays and throws. Light feet play in rhythm and get him in good positions. Flashed softness to the hands at reception but botched a couple during his defensive round most notably to the backhand side where he has developing feel. Easy-effort throws across the diamond where he shortened up the arm action. At the plate, sits in an even base with closed feet. Used a leg lift trigger for timing. Path worked more downhill at entry with some length through. Showed developing bat speed but it was a connected swing. On the mound, showed a balanced/repeatable delivery. Side steps into a belt high knee lift with a smaller drop that shows an early push with the lower half. Avg. length stride that works on-line at landing with softer block/finish. Clean/continuous arm stroke to a higher 3/4 slot. Ran the FB up to 72 that exhibited heavier action. Mixed in a developing i 60's change up. Excellent student.
