Damian Maxwell is a 2028 SS/RHP/OF with a 5-7 155 lb. frame from Joliet, IL who attends Plainfield Central. Shorter young build with some strength for his size and more to come. 7.34 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has soft hands as his best present defensive skill, good feel for his back hand, makes accurate throws with some change in slot and developing arm strength. Right handed hitter, starts from a slightly open stance with a short and calm shift into contact, shows some present bat speed with gap to gap contact, found lots of barrels and extended well through contact. Took a turn on the mound, works from a full wind up with a big side step start, high 3/4's arm slot, pulls down hard into release. fastball topped out at 79 mph, mostly straight with occasional running life. Threw a mid-60's curveball with some 12/16 depth and bite, also flashed a change up. Excellent student.
