Jacob Cordero is a 2027 RHP/C with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Chicago, IL, who attends Ogden International. A taller frame with some thickness in a bigger build. Room to keep adding strength, projectable body. Ran an 8.31 60-yard dash. A primary right-handed pitcher who worked from the wind-up with a leg lifts up above the belt. He was slightly rotational with his upper half, striding well down the mound with good extension. He had a longer arm action with some acceleration through release. The fastball worked up to 79 mph and held the 76-79 mph range, with spin above 2,000 RPMs. The pitch missed some barrels, and he was able to get a few whiffs. He also showed a low-70s breaking ball with some depth to it. Mostly a downer shape on the curveball. Mixed in an upper-60s splitter that had good depth and a funky look to it, puzzling hitters. He could land it for strikes. Also managed the run game well. A right-handed hitter who has an upright stance, narrow base, slightly open feet, and a higher back elbow. He had good intent to his actions with a longer path through contact. He rotates through contact well, engaging the back-hip and turning through the swing. Had some strength showing during his round of BP swings. Also worked out as a catcher, with a higher set-up, leaning slightly forward in an even stance. He replaced the feet and worked into the right-handed batters' box with a shorter release. He had some quickness on his transfer. Shorter release, throwing 70 mph down to second with a 2.19 pop time.
