Kai Carvo is a 2027 RHP/C with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Richland, WA who attends Hanford. Features a longer/lean build. Ran a 5.44 40-yd dash. In the INF, he showed developing actions. Feet don't work through the ball. Fielded everything clean but with some uniqueness to the glovework where he exaggerated head down with two-hand reception on GBs at him and to the gloveside. To the backhand side he worked down to a knee which hurt some quickness. Used a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws across with avg. strength for his level. Fits more of a CINF profile. At the plate, he sits in a crouched stance where he keeps his bat flat on his shoulder. Minimal takeback of the hands as he leans into his backside and uses a simple stride that gets his foot down early. Hands throw the barrel on a steeper path with a shorter finish, minimal adjustability and avg. bat-speed/impact. Best barrels were a couple quality soft LDs he sent through the middle of the field. On the mound he showed a simple operation. Side steps into a mid chest knee lift. Minimal backleg engagement working a bit more tall/fall. Lands on-line and soft with minimal block. Hand lead path out the glove for a longer arm action that works up to a 3/4 slot showing avg. arm speed. Fastball showed normal shape at 71-72. Mixed in a low 60s slurvy breaker with developing feel and shape.
