Yandel Santos is a 2027 C/2B with a 5-11 165 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Grand Oaks. Primary Catcher with a medium sized frame. Sets up from a wider side saddle stance. Gains ground out of the crouch with a high transfer and release. Recorded a 2.09 pop time and was up to 72 from behind the dish. Also played infield and fields it out front cleanly. Works around it well and was up to 79. Right handed hitter with an even and balanced base. Uses a small stride into contact for timing. Barrel starts pretty wrapped on the load. Rotates well at the top half of things and uses his hands well. Was able to find some liners to pull during his round of BP. Will need to tap into his lower half more moving forward for more impact. Still showed good ability to control the barrel with feel. Excellent Student.
