2024 High School All State Select Championship (2025-2026 Grads)
Aaron Katz is a 2026 RHP/1B with a 6-2 191 lb. frame from Westmont, IL who attends Hinsdale Central. Tall, large build with long levers and plenty of physical projection remaining. Primary right-handed pitcher, worked exclusively from the stretch on the first base-side of the rubber. Lifts his front leg slightly above the belt while his hands stay at the chin. Separates into a swooping and slightly deeper arm path before releasing the baseball from a low three-quarters slot. Generates whip to the arm and extension out in front as he works directly down the slope. Fastball played up with running life, working both sides of the plate effectively while ultimately peaking at 80 mph. Showed feel for spinning his 11-5 curveball, which had gradual depth to it and was located near the bottom of the zone. Primarily pitched to contact with his mix. Secondary first baseman, stayed low as he worked through the baseball. Showed the glove early, making efficient turns and accurate throws across the diamond. Displayed developing footwork and athleticism in the dirt. Has plenty of present quickness in the shoulder. Recorded arm strength up to 82 mph. Right-handed hitter, starts in a narrow, open stance with a high hand set-up and high back elbow. Utilizes a high leg lift trigger for timing before working into a slightly uphill bat path. Remains fairly short to the baseball and attempts to impact it out in front. Displayed rotational swing mechanics with limited connection in the operation. Generates whip to the barrel with effortless leverage to the pull-side. Offers intriguing power potential with additional strength and mechanical refinement. Hit a three-run home run to dead-center during live action. Posted an exit velocity of 98 mph. Ran a 7.48 sixty-yard dash. Excellent student. Named to the 2024 HS All State Select Championship Top Prospect List.
