Ian Waldron is a 2006 right handed pitcher/first baseman from Edmonds, Washington. He has a 6'6", 200 lb. frame with long arms and legs, and room for plenty of added muscle. He has a good projectable pitcher's body. He showed a good downward angle to hitters with his high release point. Waldron should be able to produce a lot of groundballs because of his late running life into right handed hitters. He is a good competitor, and has a solid demeanor on the mound. Waldron is aggressive early in the count, and can stay effective when he does this. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a full circle in back. Waldron has an even tempo delivery that allows him to repeat his release point and command all of his pitches. He also handled himself well around the bag at 1B, and showed some strength to his swing. He was able to get the ball in the air and show some good carry with the wood bat. He projects very nicely and only needs to add some velocity to become a giant sleeper at the next level.
