Casey Stoops is a 2027 C/RHP/MIF with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Anchorage, AK who attends Service. A compact frame and medium build with room to keep filling out moving forward. Ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. A primary catcher who had a square setup behind the dish. Developing movements working out of the crouch with intent to his actions as he transfers and works into the throws. He showed a longer arm action during his reps throwing down to second base. They also worked out as an infielder who moved lower to the ground, working to the ball on the approach. He had a full-arm action as he worked through his release. Throws were at 66 mph across the diamond. He worked from a three-quarters slot. A right-handed hitter with a more crouched stance. He showed lower hands as he sets up. Lunges through contact with a shorter path to contact. Accurate with his barrel. Used the whole field during his round of BP swings. Added 2 hits in-game as well. Also took to the mound as a right-handed pitcher with a segmented delivery with his tempo. Had a high hip leg lift with some push on his driving leg down the slope—longer arm action. Lands on-line working downhill. The fastball worked up to 71 mph and also showed a slower and bigger breaker in the mix. Excellent student.
