Zack Hankins is a 2026 LHP/1B with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Otis, OR who attends Taft. Features a long/lean build with projection. Ran a 5.21 40-yd dash. At 1B, he showed solid defensive actions. Sets up in a wider base and fields it clean but with deeper reception. Showed a quick transfer out the glove most noticeably on his DP throws which were mostly accurate with avg. strength. Used a shorter arm action where he was able to operate from different slots/angles. At the plate, he stands in a taller/narrow stance. Uses a simple load/trigger. Smaller takeback of the hands and forward move. Disconnected and stiff at times early in the swing. Hands throw the barrel on a direct path with avg. bat speed and impact for his level. Some inconsistent timing with noticeable trouble putting balls in play when a tad late. Best contact were solid LDs back up the middle when he was making contact out front. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch. Showed quality traits in his operation/stuff. Uses a hip high knee tuck that gets him into a solid hinge and engaged with his driveleg. Lands on-line and firm with an avg. block. Works more hand lead out the glove into a slight stab and back normal 3/4 slot. Ran the FB up to 81 that flashed some armside run and produced whiffs. Mixed in an upper 70s CH and developing slurvy breaker as well. Named to Top Prospects List.
