2004 South Top Prospect Showcase
Jad Dusek is a 2005 MIF from Denton, TX. Dusek is a scrappy and tough middle infielder who projects to second base in the future. His hands work very well in the field, but his arm strength is a bit short for the left side of the infield. Dusek had an injured knee and didn’t run the 60, although he showed good speed on the bases. Dusek either had very bad luck, or has a particular knack of getting hit by pitches, as he was hit at least five times during the three showcase games. It didn’t seem to bother him, except maybe that he didn’t get to take first base. When he gets pitches to hit, Dusek is a contact type hitter with an early load, no stride swing who is looking to hit the ball hard to all fields. Jad is a good student.
