LATEST PG SHOWCASE REPORT
2024 Northwest Indoor Prospect Gateway
Fielding
-Believe it or not, feet as as important of a trait behind the plate as any other. Fix the feet, and everything else falls into place. By speeding up the feet, it will speed up the rest of the process and improve transfers as well as the urgency to get rid of the baseball. Everything needs to stay connected.
-Keep working on arm speed and carry. Throw, throw, throw. But I find throwing with a purpose is always better than "just playing catch". Work on accelerating transfer speeds and going right into the throw, even while just playing catch.
Hitting
-Long path to contact. Shortening the swing or making it more compact allows you to get the barrel of the bat to the baseball in a more timely manner and keeps the rest connected.
-Sits on back side. Be athletic in the box. You are already athletic, now take that into the box with you. Barrel control, being on time and staying connected are all within reach with minor tweaks mechanically.
Pitching
-Generate from your lower half in the delivery. It will allow you to finish the pitch, and with that speeds up the arm and will provide more velocity.
-Same as behind the plate, get the feet right and everything falls into place.
I look forward to seeing you at the next PG event and the strides that you are making.
