Appel is a lean athletic 6'1/165 left handed hitting OF from New York. His #1 tool is his running ability. He ran a 6.7 in Ft Myers and with better running form he could be a easy 6.4 - 6.5 type. He has some arm strength but his arm action shows a lot of effort. He's a contact type speed player at the plate. He struggled some in BP but it was early January and Appel is from New York. Jason is a good student and has committed to UNC Wilmington.
