Jason Stoddard is a 5'10" 190 pound 2006 catcher, third baseman, and right handed pitcher from Concord, California who attends De LaSalle High School. He has a strong stocky catchers build for durability and threw 67 mph to second base with a 2.14 pop time being his best. He has good agility and the hands to handle any staff. Jason stands tall in the box with an average base and good bat speed and strength. He is a strong middle lineup bat with the ability to hit for average and be a productive offensive hitter. On the mound, Stoddard has a 3/4 arm slot with some arm speed out front. He has a balanced delivery throughout with a good finish. His fastball topped out at 78 mph and hides the ball well. Stoddard's curveball is short and compact and with some work could be his out pitch. He showed some decent feel for his change up at 66 mph. He has compact mechanics and is very slow and deliberate. Defensively, he has good feet and hands. He has solid defensive tools. Jason is a good student and has the ability to move onto the next level.
