Jorge Sanchez is a 2006 catcher/first baseman from Miami, Florida, with a 6'0", 210 lb. frame. Defensively he is a very good catcher with good mechanics. He has soft hands receiving, and blocks balls in the dirt well with good foot quickness. Sanchez also has good transfers and arm strength that helps produce pop times consistently in the 2.05 range. Offensively he is a right handed hitter who uses a knee lift trigger and has athletic actions in his swing. Sanchez has good bat speed and gets good leverage in his swing. He has a short bat path and attacks pitches. He has good hand strength with a slight lift in his swing with some raw power. Sanchez likes the ball on the inner half and sometimes opens his front side early trying to hit the ball hard to the pull side. He has looseness in his actions and is agile. He is a solid follow.
