Kenneth Gilbert is a 2007 first baseman/left handed pitcher from Desoto, TX with a lean athletic build at 6-2, 175 lbs. He hits from a closed upright stance with a big leg kick trigger and a high finish. He has quick hands and he showed good bat speed through the zone. He makes solid contact and he showed good power potential to the pull side. Defensively, he has quick reactions off the bat and he has good feet around the bag. He has a long clean arm action and showed good strength at 80 mph across the infield. He pitches from a 3/4 slot with a full hip turn and a slow delivery. His fastball topped at 73 with some sink, and he has a loose curveball at 63 mph with 1-7 break. He looks like he has a lot more in him on the hill. He is big young kid with a very projectable body and he will be a top level prospect for 2007. Kenneth is a very good student.
