Kyle Malone is a 2006 right handed pitcher from Key West High School in Florida, with a 5'10", 155 lb. frame. He is a lean and athletic pitcher who ran a 6.97-sixty, but didn't play a position at the event. On the mound the righty throws from a 3/4 arm slot with an easy pitching motion. He has a clean arm that is loose and he shows projectable velocity. Malone's fastball topped out at 79 mph with some natural cut showing late life. None of his pitches were straight which makes it difficult for hitters to make solid contact. He also mixes in a big breaking curveball from 61-63 mph with good depth. He has an effective pitching style and hits his spots working in and out with his fastball and then slowing the hitter's bat with his big curveball. Malone has projectable velocity with good upside. At the plate he is a contact hitter with a wristy swing. Malone is also a good student.
