2005 Southeast Top Prospect Showcase
Kyle Mitchell is a 2006 RHP/3B/OF from Mosley High School in Panama City, Florida, with a 6'4'', 215 lb. frame. He is a strong and durable two-way prospect. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a short arm circle in the back. He has an easy arm action with a balanced and online delivery. Mitchell has a fastball that topped out at 85 mph with some arm side life, and he is most productive when he stays on top of the ball. His 11 to 5 curveball is hard with good depth and makes a quality second pitch. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with plus bat speed and can mash. Mitchell gets great leverage at contact which helps produce plus raw power and strength in his swing. He battles at the plate fouling off tough pitches, then driving mistakes deep. Mitchell will be able to hit for power and average at the next level as a middle of the order run producer. He is a good two-way prospect with good upside.
