Aguier is a player with possibly less defensive skills than some but more than makes up for it with the bat. He was an All-Star selection because of that stick and there is no question that he can produce. He is a 5 foot 11, 192 pound first baseman, he moves well around the bag and can make the throw to second, he appears to be well-suited for that spot. He can pick the ball and has skill with the sharp grounders, but the bat is by far his best tool. He swings left-handed and showed routine power mostly to pull. He has good bat-speed, creates good leverage and displayed some loft power down the right field line. In the games there was never an at-bat where he was over-matched. He hit everything and most were sharp enough to get through or fall in the gap. He is a young, late October 2006 grad so there is much more to come from him !
