Anthony Annino: Annino has an excellent pitcher’s body at 6-5, 215 lbs, especially for a left hander. He’s a surprisingly good athlete for his size and swings the bat well in addition to his pitching talents. Annino has fluid pitching mechanics and throws consistent strikes with an 81-84 mph fastball. His breaking pitch is a 71-75 mph curveball and he also throws a sinking 74 mph change. Annino went right after hitters aggressively with his fastball and showed some polish to his approach. Because of his athletic ability, size and coordination, along with being from the Northeast, Annino impresses us as the type of young pitcher who is a good bet to add lots of velocity in the future. When you add velocity to a 6-5 southpaw who is already throwing 84 mph, you have a good pitching prospect. High ceiling on this lefty.
