Matt Devito is a 5'11" right handed hitting catcher from Georgia with the prototypical catcher’s body, with short arms and legs and good overall strength. He hits from a balanced approach with a short compact swing that hits the ball well to all fields. Devito jumped out front on a couple of balls in batting practice and hit them hard, but his swing works better with the all fields approach. Defensively, Devito had balanced, smooth actions that could quicken up a little. His balance helped him have a smooth release that produced very accurate online throws to second base. Matt is a good student.
